Tig's Photo and Video Work

Since I started this thread, you've seen me go from hobbyist to professional, just as I've gotten to see many achievements and life transitions of others in this community.

I embarked on this career in 2013, hired as a second shooter for a company called Bella Rose here in Minnesota. I quickly became a lead shooter and because the company booked a lot of weddings and had lots of contractors, I was able to get a great deal of experience in a short amount of time. That company's abuse of its clients and contractors forced me to leave it at the beginning of 2016; I'm a fully independent photographer and cinematographer.

Due to broken links, etc. I deleted a bunch of early posts in this thread; the first photos appear on page 10. If you are passionate about photography or video as a career, hobby, or both, I'd encourage you to start a thread about your own projects too!

I like that bridge pic. Also, nice one catching Bella mid-air.

Thanks J. You know Bella doesn't like to slow down for anyone.

there's an interesting video on YouTube about the making of lenses. A lot goes into them.  And that's just the glass itself, to say nothing of the mechanical parts of the lens, like autofocus mechanisms, zoom, image stabilization, etc.

I commend your talent TIGR. 8O But I thought you were older than you are.
That\'s my view, and it happens to be correct. -Justice Antonin Scalia

TIGR could probably pass for at least 50.

Do you have a deviantart account, by any chance?

Is that your cat?

I don't have any of my own, just a bunch from the neighborhood that tend to be shy and unfriendly.

Topaz looks very cool, by the way.

That is one of three kittens that was born at my girlfriend's parents' farm this summer. I used to have a bunch of cats at my place (I live out in the country too) but there are none now. I am more a dog person but you just can't help smiling when you see the antics of weeks-old kittens. :) That one was pretty photogenic too.
