Grenade Launchers
« on: December 31, 2017, 11:01:18 am »
Can we please turn off grenade launchers on MIX. Most everyone that plays is competent enough shooter to not use these.
They can ruin a good game and create a lot of arguing amongst players. Keep them in TDM but please turn them off in MIX.
Thanks

can we PLEASE get rid of grenade launchers!!!!!!!    +! :(
it's makes the game unfun...  The other perks you have a CHANCE to avoid or miss most of the time!  No one learns to aim if they use those panzy grenade launchers. Mac

Yep, we sure can. Grenade launchers are now banned from both Regenesis CoD4 servers.

For those who don't like this change, here's why. This comes with both servers now including some objective-based gameplay (along with the usual TDM), wherein objectives can be near-instantly and accurately spammed from great distances the moment the objective is touched by an opposing player. This is highly disruptive to the regular flow of gameplay, especially in a game where Overkill allows a player to have up to four launches, and respawns are quick enough to always have one player ready to fire at a given objective. Grenade launchers have greater range than regular grenades, greater accuraty than airstrikes, and are faster than both. And unlike claymores and C4, they can't be defeated by an opponent's preemptive grenade.

This is how things were in our mixed-gametype servers before, and I think it continues to make good sense now. Opposing opinions always welcome.
